Oster BCCG08-B2B 8-Speed Blender, Black

Details make this a great blender!
I never thought I would be writing a review; a blender is a blender, right? NOT. Before I purchased this blender I purchased one I was very unhappy with and ended up returning. To replace it I bought this BCCG08 model, only $30.00 from Costco. Here are the points that make it great:
* The US measurements are positioned for easy right-hand viewing (vs. having to turn the blender around to your left hand to see them).
* The settings allow for a very slow "mix" speed, not just the higher speeds, of which it has several options.
* The pitcher has a nice-size and shape spout so that liquid does not spill over the sides when you are pouring.
* The Pulse option has two settings; press it gently and the blender will ONLY go when you press the Pulse button, and stops when you let off. Press it further and it will switch to ONLY going when you aren't pressing the Pulse button, and it will stop when you press it. This is a great feature!

I recommend this...

Tippy Blender
We love Oster blenders and always have. Our old Cuisinart gave up the ghost (plastic coupling for the blades -- see my other reviews) so we bought this at Costco for $29.99. Looks nice, works nice but the stand is not wide and / or heavy enough and it very tippy to the front. We promptly returned it and went with a different Oster blender, one with a heavier and wider base.

Aside from that, it seemed to work well and was just as noisy as all of the other Oster blenders, but it is quieter than our old Cuisinart.

This is NOT the one that was reviewed by Consumer Reports. If you actually read the CR article, you will see it is ONLY available at Bed, Bath and Beyond...

Not the CR pick
The previous reviewer is mistaken. This is not the CR model that was rated highly. Furthermore, CR objects to its reviews being used commercially. There is a model of Oster that fits the parameters listed by the previous review, however I would urge any consumer to get the CR issue in question and make sure the proper model number is the one they buy.
