pretty but not very "bright"
I searced and researched for weeks to try and find the perfect toaster with all the features I wanted. This, though having everything I wanted, like beautiful stainless steel, bagel function, reheat, and all that, does not function the way I expected a Cuisinart product to work. I have to put it on the lowest number to get white toast just right. It'll burn toast on setting 2. It burns pop tarts on 1. Too much of a hassle to return for me, so here it sits, beautiful though it is, in my kitchen with the other stainless steel appliances that work great!
One good reason to pass on this toaster
This may at first sound trivial, but had I realized this particular annoyance, I would never have bought this toaster: It is noiseless. When the toast pops up, it doesn't make enough noise to hear it, and there is no built-in chime or bell or little "ding" to let you know the toast has finished and popped up.
If you like your toast, uh, toasty hot, then be prepared to be repeatedly disappointed--unless you want to just stand there staring at the toaster to know when it pops up.
