It is 18 pump-is that good enough?
Bought this because of the 18 pump and description said quiet. I have not used a 15 pump so don't know what the difference would be, but the crema is great, the froth for the milk is great. Meets taste expectations.
Unsure as what to expect. It's a nice compact size, smaller than I thought it might be. The water tank holds a nice amount of water, getting about 4-5 doubles from one tank, ok for our uses.
Have learned to let both the milk frother element and coffee element to heat at the same time. If you wait for the milk frother to heat after brewing the espresso it's a good long minute until it's ready.
I've begun the process with frothing the milk first then brewing right into the cup.
The unit is light weight so when putting the grounds in you have to hold onto the unit to keep it stable and not slipping on the counter.
It does dribble water and that was not expected. Although the plate catches it, and it's not hard to...
Not great for the price
The reasons I was unhappy with this machine (and I've had 3 pump espresso machines and one steam) were the following: (1) it took a significant amount of time to recharge after making the espresso to be ready to froth. In the meantime, the espresso would cool (my husband would not continue using it for this reason); my new machine (significantly less expensive) is quicker getting ready for frothing after making the espresso; (2) the crema was disappointing relative to other pump machines. My new, less expensive machine seems to make better crema even though it is rated 3 bars lower than the Espressione: specifically, my new, less expensive espresso machine seems stronger and the crema thicker; the Espressione's crema did not seem much if any better than that made from a 15 bar pump machine that was half the price (but later leaked); (3) the knobs felt and looked flimsy; practically, they felt like it was only a matter of time before they broke; (4) this is probably unique...
Great performer, Getting another one.
This machine looks great in our office, and has done a superior job at keeping up with the demand over the months.
We don't use the ground coffee but instead we use the pods, it's very simple and clean, with consistent espresso quality, like the nice crema up on top too. Have not tried making cappuccinos as we don't keep milk here but see that the massive amount of steam it spits out is amazing (just turning the knob on the side controls the steam load).
Because of great looks and performance we are getting another one for the other office, would definetely recommend it if you are planning on something that keeps going regardless of the load, we had a dinky Briel machine before and it always leaked and made all sorts of noise, this one is very quite in operation and works flawlessly. would definetely recommend it for either home or like us the office
